MM Family Dentistry is an Austin-based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages 14 and above. We are committed to delivering the highest quality dental care and do so using advanced dental equipment and procedures. We do cosmetic dentistry offering services from basic hygiene to perio-therapy, root canals, veneers, crowns, bridges and more.

O. Wayne McElveen, DDS

As a senior partner and owner of MM Family Dentistry, Dr. McElveen is committed to serving his community through dedicated, clinically excellent oral healthcare that helps to improve each patient’s overall quality of life. A native of Vaux Hall, NJ, Dr. McElveen’s college career started at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. There, he completed both his Bachelor of Arts in Applied Science and his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. He proceeded to pursue his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the New York University College of Dentistry, graduating in 1973. He accepted a General Practice Residency position at Newark Beth Israel Hospital in New Jersey, completing his certification in May of 1974. After practicing at a group dental office in East Orange for over a year, he decided to move to Austin, TX and joined with Drs. White and Dr. Mason to continue his career – and the rest is history!

Dr. McElveen has consistently participated in continuing education courses and seminars over the span of his career. His strongest interests include cosmetic dentistry, implantology, Invisalign, and full mouth rehabilitation. He has additionally been affiliated with various dental organizations, including the following:

  • National Dental Association
  • American Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • Dr. McElveen has been married to Arnolda Janet McElveen for over 50 years, and together, they have 4 daughters, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. Outside of the dental office, he has been active in many community and civic oriented organizations at the local and state level, including the NAACP, Urban League Advisory Board, Boys and Girls Club of American Advisory Board, Texas Organization of Professionals, Austin Striders Track Club, the Texas Title XIX Advisory Board, KXAN Advisory Board Member, and Sinai Baptist Church Member, as well as many more. His aspirations are to continue serving his community and mankind well into the future while also ensuring that his descendants have a prosperous future and live a life that’s beneficial to themselves and others. He and Janet are working together to build a financial legacy for themselves while also helping others accomplish the same.

    Financial coordinator

    Job duties/title: Financial coordinator; assist with phones, scheduling appointments, assist with treatment plans for patients, bill insurance, follow up with insurances regarding payments, A/R reports, collect money finalize deposits daily.

    How do you interact with patients?
    Greet patients as they arrive, make sure they feel welcomed and comfortable during their visit.

    What do you like most about your job?
    The teamwork between the staff, which makes the day go by easy. We work together and help each other in all areas. Our main priority and goal is wanting the best for our patients.

    About me:
    I was born in New Jersey, but raised in Austin, Tx. I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy traveling, watching all sports especially basketball and football.

    Alysa Nunez

    Dental Hygienist

    Job duties/title: Dental Hygienist- Treatment from basic prophylaxis to root planning and scaling (Soft tissue management), Educate patients regular home care (materials and techniques) and the effectiveness of our perio-protect program and system.

    How do you interact with patients?
    Treat them like family, help them establish a long-lasting oral hygiene routine with latest products and research.

    What do you like most about your job?
    The TEAM! Getting to know the patients, seeing dramatic before and after improvements in patients’ oral health.

    Hobbies:
    I enjoy outdoors, biking, camping, cooking, reading, nutrition, movies, live music, spending time with husband and family.

    Monica Garcia

    Office Manager

    Job Duties/Title: Office Manager, plan and manage dental business operations to ensure excellent patient support services. Oversees daily office activities and provide directions and guidance to staff as needed and respond efficiently to patient and Doctor’s needs and inquires. Ensure that patient appointments, cancellations and last-minute adjustments are handled properly.

    How do you interact with patients?
    I am here to help my patients have the BEST experience with us.

    What do you like most about your job?
    I have been with the practice for 28 years; it is my second home. I enjoy working with patients, co-workers and my doctors.

    Ana Jaimes

    Dental Assistant

    Job duties/Title: Dental Assistant; assist any kind of procedure, taking X-rays, scheduling patients, sterilizing instruments, assist other areas as needed within the office.

    How do you interact with patients?
    I always make sure I introduce myself and make the patients feel comfortable in all their dentist appointments. Making sure they leave with good homecare after any kind of procedure that gets completed.

    What do you like most about your job?
    Helping patients and making them feel welcome and comfortable every visit and making sure they leave satisfied.

    About me:
    A true Austin native, Ana studied at The College of Health Care Professions. She is very proud to be a member of the MMS family and has a true passion for helping patients smile with newfound confidence. Her responsible nature makes her a great fit for our dental office! When she isn’t busy at work, she enjoys spending quality time with her three sisters and two brothers.

    Rosalinda Bustos

    Dental Assistant

    Job Duties/ title: Dental Assistant; take impression, assisting in procedures, schedule appointments, x-rays, assist with other areas in office as needed.

    How do you interact with patients?
    Introduce myself, inform them about their procedure, making sure they feel comfortable.

    What do you like most about your job?
    My patients- it gives me joy when I see my patients.

    Hobbies:
    I like to paint whenever I can, enjoy my time with my dog Coco, and listening to music. Graduated from College healthcare of Professions.

    Receptionist

    Job Duties/Title: Financial Officer Coordinator; assist with phones, scheduling, and insurance. Resolve basic patient concerns and situations. Update office apps and take payments and lab cases.

    How do you interact with patients?
    Greet patients as they arrive and make them feel comfortable and help them with a great experience during their visit.

    What do you like most about your job?
    The team and the patients and getting to interact with each member of the team and becoming a unit. Getting to know and understand our patient’s individual needs to provide the best possible care for our patients.

    About Me:
    I enjoy traveling, crafts, spending time with my family and friends. I also like any kind of basketball.
